n organization exists because of a vision. Those who have made a planned gift have led the way through their estate planning and have set an example for those who follow.

A major way to support end-of-life care through your charitable planned giving is an endowment.

An endowment gift is permanently restricted and invested, with the interest earnings used to support end-of-life care services. A Chambered Nautilus Endowment Fund can be established with an initial minimum gift of $25,000. It's benefits:

You decide, when making your planned gift, to make it permanent.
Your gift is invested, in perpetuity, with the investment income used to support hospice and other end-of-life care services, care for the caregiver, and bereavement programs.
Your gift can be for general purposes or can be restricted in support of one of the following areas:

Foundation Fund. To support the Hospice Foundation’s grants program for end-of-life care.

Care for the Caregiver. Supports services to help caregivers cope with their responsibilities and to take time to refresh their spirit.

Pediatric Hospice Care. To fund care and services for children with a life-threatening disease or those at the end-of-life.

Bereavement. To support programs for grieving families.

Palliative Care. To support an emerging specialty in hospital-based end-of-life care that combines cure-oriented treatments, pain and symptom management, and emotional support services.

Technology. To support new technologies in managing a patient's care that increase efficiencies and improves access to services, especially for patients who live in far-reaching rural communities.

Education and Advocacy. To support outreach programs that raise public awareness and dialogue to improve end-of-life care, and to promote health care system changes through the legislative process.

Friendship Fund. To support care for those dying from HIV/AIDS.

Patient Sponsored Care. To provide funds for people who do not have the resources to cover hospice and other end-of-life care and services.

Burial and Related Services. To help support the costs of burial services for people who had no resources to cover or provide for these arrangements.
