aren Boothroyd joined the Hospice Foundation board of directors with a long history of community service. She serves on the board for Washington Union School District in Salinas, and is a volunteer docent in the district’s classroom-based art education program. She also is formerly a director of the school district’s educational foundation and served on the board for Y.M.C.A. In addition, Karen is a member of Entre Nous in Salinas, a women’s community service organization, and is a Friend of Legal Services for Seniors. She and her husband Bert live in Salinas and have two grown daughters.
