Ambort has been a community service and hospice volunteer in
Monterey, California for many years. She was on the board of
directors of Friends of Hospice, a volunteer fundraising
organization, and served as president from 1990-1992. She
was also was a founding member and served 4 ˝ years as board
president for Yellow Brick Road, a community benefit thrift
shop for which she is still involved. She is also a
volunteer in the Health Library for Community Hospital of
the Monterey Peninsula, and is a vigil captain for the
hospital’s hospice program. In 1994, Beverley was awarded
the Kendall Inspiration Award, now a Hospice Foundation
recognition, for her compassionate, inspirational service to
hospice patients and their families. She joined the Hospice
Foundation board in 2006, and is a resident of Carmel,
Calif.
